Auditory Sedatives.

A soul sound collection.
Nero

—Me and You

Are you ready? Do you know? I feel it too.

Me and You, Nero.

::

What’s there to say beyond: it’s Nero, it’s bumpin’, it’s uncannily good.

And it’s pretty fantastic to listen to while studying for finals. Just sayin’.

Calvin Harris

—I Need Your Love (feat. Ellie Goulding)

lizraine:

Tell me, do you feel the same?

I Need Your Love, Calvin Harris feat. Ellie Goulding.

Aqualung & Lucy Schwartz

—Cold

lizraine:

What you are given,
Can’t be forgotten,
And never forsaken.

Cold, Aqualung and Lucy Schwartz.

Alex Clare

—Too Close

You’ve given me more than I can return, yet there’s oh so much more that you deserve.

Too close, Alex Clare.

::

You know that bumpin’ jam in that Internet Explorer commercial? And nearly every other tech commercial that’s come out in the last 2 months? Yep, this is that jam.

It is infectiously good.

Get into it, y’all.

Imagine Dragons

—Radioactive

lizraine:

This is it  — the apocalypse.

Radioactive, Imagine Dragons.

Get into it.

Starfucker

—Julius

lizraine:

Fall into your eyes.

Julius, Starfucker.

Current obsession. One of my good friends went to Sasquatch and saw them live, and knowing me incredibly well, told me that I’d love them as well. And alas, as soon as she played this song for me, I was hooked.

I’ve been dancing around my house to it; dancing around at work to it; dancing like it ain’t no thang to it.

This particular song reminds me of what a lovechild of M83 and Passion Pit might sound like. Not too familiar to either, but there’s enough of a resemblance to make your foot tap uncontrollably (though their entire Reptilians album varies beautifully well).

I just can’t get over this!

The Hood Internet

—See Youth (Usher vs Santigold)

I’ve been anticipating.

See Youth (Santigold vs. Usher), The Hood Internet.

::

Both of these songs stand on their own fair enough (“Lemme See” and “Disparate Youth”), but assimilated in this remix? Exceedingly brilliant.

That leading bass.

Pure swagger.

Westbound Train

—Check Your Time

lizraine:

You say it’s the life, boy, you say it’s your life.

Check Your Time, Westbound Train.

The Oh Hello's

—Hello My Old Heart

Don’t tell me that we’ve grown for having loved a little while.

Hello My Old Heart, The Oh Hello’s.

//

I could write for days about the relevancy of this song, but I think it might just be better for you to listen and connect for yourself.

Magic Wands

—Black Magic

Into the pit of your heart.

Black Magic, Magic Wands.

I love every single thing about this jam. It’s like 90’s rock meets a modern vibe, and it’s a little reminiscent of Blue Foundation (in a good way). I don’t know if you guys have noticed yet, but I tend to have an affinity for any kind of jam that has a nice, heavy bass beat, and this song has just that.

A little rock, a little funk, a little throw-back.

Get into it.

And if you find you’re diggin’ it enough to have it on constant repeat like me, pick it up for free on iTunes right now! It’s the Indie Spotlight of the week.
